I am not very vocal about the schooling of my youngest daughter, Nicole. If I am, my blog posts frequency will be twice a day at a minimum. You see, it is her first time in school this year and she was making it memorable for all of us as always.
Nicole is in Senior Casa, or for the majority of us, it is called Nursery level. She is the tallest among the girls that is why she is seated at the back row, beside two other boy classmates. Sort of a princess with two princes charming drama.
She is not the most intelligent in their class but I'd always like to think that she is. This is because of her talent for thinking out of the box.
One time, she had this assignment to color the pictures on her book depending on the texture and hardness of the item. If it is hard, you have to color it blue, if it is soft, then color it orange. If it is rough, then color it yellow; otherwise color it red. When I checked on her assignment, I was surprised when I saw the picture of a hollow block, it was colored with green. I asked her, how come it is colored green, when there is no green color given on the instruction. She said that she colored it with blue first for it is hard, then colored it with yellow, for it is rough. The combination of the colors resulted to green. I was deeply amazed.
I asked her once, how come she was the only one in their class still without an ID card. I even teased her that maybe her teacher is having a hard time trying to put her face on the card. She quickly answered that her teacher is having a hard time spelling her name because she gave a wrong spelling when she was asked to write one. Pretty clever.
One day, I was checking her quizzes, I noticed that she had no correct answer on one of her tests. The instruction was to cross out those pictures which show good grooming. According to her, the instruction was wrong, that is why she crossed-out all those pictures that did not show good and proper grooming. She got a point there. I just found myself writing to her teacher to change or align the instruction from the book from now on.
I simply cannot ask for more.
